REGAIN REGISTRY
TUURI HOTAKAINEN
memories
Standing on the dock next to a ferry in the early morning with two people, waiting on a third to show up. (May freebie)
Tuuri watches as two random adults in the back of a camper suddenly pass out mid-sentence, while a cat starts to cry and a human out of sight screams continuously in the background. Tuuri responds by freaking out and driving off in the camper as fast as she can.
Tuuri and another woman played games in a dark room for several hours without speaking, until some cats meow at the windows to get humans to open them.
Desperately running to catch a train in a crowd of people.
A large Danish man borrows the radio she's using to report that they're out of food.
Tuuri hears a crunching noise as she hauls a bag of luggage around. She opens her bag to see that a framed photograph of herself, Lalli, and a man she doesn't recognize cracked over her face.
Lalli is a mage, and magical abilities run in Tuuri's family! But Tuuri herself doesn't get anything cool. Biggest bummer ever.
Sigrun thinks Tuuri is sixteen. She's twenty-one. At least the large Danish man knows that.
The first rule of survival "outside the safe areas," whatever that means: remember to only stand still and stay silent.
Driving past the overgrown remains of a highway full of abandoned, rusting cars.
Sitting on the edge of an old, broken lighthouse with the crew, watching a boat approach from the distance. It's all very calm and peaceful, until the boat fires a harpoon at them and an Icelandic woman threatens their "Norwegian friend" over a megaphone.
Tuuri tries to convince Lalli to show off a spell for a skeptical Emil. It doesn't work.
Tuuri says she doesn't remember "book salvation" in her mission statement. An older man says that's because it's a secret.
Sigrun driving the tank into a shed. "Oh well, I suppose I don't know how to drive. We should switch."
Trying to appease a sulking Lalli by holding out a variety of snacks.
Seeing a big eagle-owl from above in a starry dreamscape. After staring for a second, the owl panics, says "no," and takes up into the air. Crazy dream, right?
The team deciding to name their cat "kitty" in their respective languages.
A conversation between her and Emil, where Tuuri expresses envy at the idea of an electric fence to keep something from getting too close, and Emil thinks that Tuuri doesn't have electricity.
Mikkel is interested in a particular book stuffed with photographs and says he'll take a closer look at it. Tuuri protests that that's her job, until Sigrun reassures her that they'll find her more books.
Transcribing that book stuffed full of gross pictures at Mikkel's request, on a typewriter! She can't remember what the book said, but she sure does remember tearing one of the pages.
